My husband and I are both Disney fanatics and our marriage started at the mouse's Florida home! Here's the story of our engagement and marriage:

John, and I were visiting Walt Disney World on vacation with his sister and some of her friends. He took me for a walk through the countries of EPCOT, then he said he wanted to go take a walk on the beach at The Beach Club resort. We started walking on the beach and I could see a flicker of light ahead. As we got closer, I saw a Mickey and Minnie beach towel spread out with a candle, flowers in a Disney wedding vase and two Mickey wine glasses with a bottle of champagne. John told me to sit down. He got down on one knee and said, "I've done my best to take you around the world (referring to EPCOT's countries). Now, will you marry me?" Since I knew John had bought a ring, I planned ahead myself! Instead of saying "yes" I presented John with a Mickey Mouse pocket watch engraved with the word "yes" inside. Then, the fireworks from IllumiNations at EPCOT started and we could see them perfectly over the hotel from our spot on the beach. Eventually I noticed flashes, and saw John's sister and her friends, who set up the spread on the beach for him, taking pictures of us. They captured the whole proposal on film!

The next day, John took me to Franck's, next to the Disney Wedding Pavilion, and the planning began. We decided on a long engagement so we could plan it perfectly and afford all we wanted to do! After two years of waiting, a fantastic rehearsal at the Living Sea, a bridal tea with the Mad Hatter and a bachelor party at DisneyQuest, we were ready for the big day! We got married December 28, 1998 at 10 a.m. in Epcot's Italy Pavilion, followed by a reception at Atlantic Dance. We had 65 guests and best time of our lives! That night, we had a dessert party to watch Illuminations, then it was off to a Disney Cruise. The wedding's cast spread pixie dust on our days at Disney and with a start like that, we really are going to live "happily ever after."
