Downtown Disney
This is a free-standing newsstand with a full-fledged bookstore behind. I heard someone say of this Compass Books & Cafe that it is no Barnes and Noble but it should provide hotel guests a good place to pick up some reading material on their multi-day vacation. It also includes a coffee bar.
AMC has a history of providing theaters at other Disney theme parks. This 12-theater facility is supposed to be one of the more comfortable theaters with stadium seating and extra leg room. The AMC Downtown Disney 12 is housed in a 60,000-square-foot building with more than 3,000 seats total.
On the right is Starabilias, located between the AMC entrance and LEGO Imagination Center. It features and assortment of movie memorabilia and other pop culture items. One of the most fun things they have on display is a full-sized Bob Big Boy fiberglass figure, like the ones that stood out in front of the old restaurants.
For those who have not been to the hotel area for awhile, you may be surprised to learn that the outlying buildings of stores and restaurants have been demolished. However, the monorail station has remained, though it has been redecorated with an enclosure that resembles giant leaves. It is located right next to the Rainforest Cafe.

Technically, the monorail no longer stops at any of the hotels even though the track and the station have remained in the same location. It travels through the new Grand Californian Hotel and is a short walk to the Disneyland Hotel (and a slightly longer walk to the Paradise Pier Hotel).
