Cinderella Castle Photos

I have several pictures taken close to the Castle looking up. I have found that this gives a very different perspective than the pictures taken from a distance. This first image shows the western side.

Another shot of the western side from a slightly different angle. Note all the elaborate trim, even at the higher elevations. You can also sort of make out the gargoyles that are perched up high on the towers looking down.

Emerging into Fantasyland on the path from Liberty Square gives this view. Just about every tower has gold leaf at the top.

If you stand directly behind the Castle in Fantasyland, and look up, this is what you see. Those are the tops of the windows that you can see in the picture above from the Skyway.

This view makes the architecture look almost Gothic. The clouds cooperated nicely for this picture to give it a slightly different tone from the others.

We'll finish up with a few of my favorites. A picture of Cinderella Castle in the trees, taken along the path between the Castle and Tomorrowland. Just a few years ago, a Cinderella Wishing Well was added along this path.

I have always been fond of this picture. The light from the setting sun worked out perfectly. I remember reading an interview with John Hench where he stated that the color of sunlight in Florida is more blue, while the light in California is closer to red, and they have to take that into consideration when they plan their color schemes. So as you can see here, the red glow of the setting sun in Florida really changes up the look of things. In these pictures, it is also interesting to notice the difference in the color of the blue roof tiles. Evidently, the sun fades the tiles every few years, and then they are either painted or replaced.

Our final shot of Cinderella Castle was taken at night. While not all of my night shots turn out well, I manage to get a few good ones here and there. I had this one hanging on my wall for several years.
