As a long-time Angels baseball fan, Kathy decided that it would be great if we could attend the victory celebrations at the Disneyland Resort for the team after it won the World Series. We have followed the team for years, with televised games being a nearly daily programming choice for us. Though it was short notice and it figured to be heavily attended, Kathy decided she wanted to be a part of the celebration and made the decision to go.

Monday morning, I called the hotel reservation line looking for a decent price on a stay for that evening. The price was too good to pass up staying at our favorite hotel, the Grand Californian. After work on Monday, we made the 35-mile drive to Anaheim and checked in.

After storing our bag in our Downtown Disney-view room, we headed over to Disneyland. I called my mom on our cellphone asking her to guess where we were. She guessed because of the parade music in the background but couldn't believe we were there. She was happy and excited for us when we told her why we were there. Likewise, Kathy's dad was surprised to learn that we were down in Anaheim on Monday to celebrate the festivities.

After enjoying the resort for the evening, we retired to the hotel to get some sleep for the big day. We decided to check our bag at the bell desk when good fortune befell us. The bellhop told us that Angel players were coming in through the hotel's entrance. As the doors opened, I saw the World Series Championship trophy flashing by and I dragged Kathy outside to see it. Family and friends of the players were taking pictures near it and when everyone left, I dragged Kathy again to where it was and asked the attendant if I could get a quick picture of Kathy with it. He didn't seemed thrilled but let us anyway. Very exciting!

The whole day was electric for us. We had a blast! Two parades with the routes packed with guests wearing red and beating ThunderStix like crazy. Kathy took pictures, I took video. This will be a day that we'll remember for quite some time.
