For the 50th anniversary, Disneyland has brought back a version of a show that was popular for its 40th anniversary with Mickey Mouse climbing the Matterhorn and placing a flag at the top. In this picture, Minnie is giving Mickey a good luck hug.
With the help of other climbers, Mickey makes his way up from about halfway to the top of the Matterhorn.
Once at the top, Mickey Mouse plants a 50th anniversary flag.
The flag can be seen a bit better, blowing in the wind, in this picture.
Select vehicles and décor of attractions that debuted in 1955 will be "goldenized" in recognition of the park’s 50-year milestone. On display here is a car from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
Other decorated "vehicles" were still under wraps as a tease for the actual start of the 50th celebration, including a horse from King Arthur Carrousel.
Even though the Dumbo attraction is already a low-capacity ride, it was even less available with one of the elephant vehicles under wraps. A golden Dumbo also was covered at a nearby photo op location.
