Almost all of Disneyland has been refurbished and repainted over the course of the last year and a half. The Opera House has had gold trim applied to it. Instead of The Walt Disney Story featuring Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, the Opera House will host "Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years" attraction featuring a short film starring Steve Martin and Donald Duck.
Other fixtures, including lamp posts, received the golden touch. Atop the light stands Tinker Bell, who serves as one of the main icons of Disneyland's 50th anniversary.
Each light is further surrounded by more lights that serve as pixie dust for Ms. Bell.
The detail of the little figure topping each light fixture down Main Street USA is quite amazing and on scale.
The effect of the repainted gold posts with Tinker Bell on top is both dramatic and subtle. It is a simple and effective way to remind guests about Disneyland's anniversary.
The piano has been moved from Coke Corner to this more out-of-the-way place at the Plaza Pavilion.
