New banners advertising Disneyland's 50th anniversary as the "Happiest Homecoming on Earth" have been placed around the resort. The giant orange traffic cone over the 'A' in California is to promote the Block Party Bash featuring characters from Pixar films, which is new to Disney's California Adventure.

Donald Duck.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
In the esplanade area between Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure are commemorative bricks that guests can purchase. The latest bricks are available with a gold medal representing the resort's 50th anniversary.
Because of the kick-off festivities for the 18-month celebration, Disneyland will be closed May 4, 2005 for private parties of invited guests, contest winners and media. Signs were up around the area to alert people to the closure.
Disney's California Adventure remains open that day so guests can still attend a Southern California Disney theme park May 4. There may be thousands of people showing up unaware that Disneyland is closed.
