Most of the pictures of the 75 InspEARation statues are taken from the front, which leaves out some of the interesting details found on the backside of some of the statues. Kevin Garnett's "Believe in Your Dreams" includes his name on the Minnesota Timberwolves' jersey as well as the word "Dream" on his cap. The front side of the cap says "Believe."
From the front, Trey Hoyumpa's "Mickey's Shadow" looks to be your standard traditional Mickey with red shorts and yellow shoes. Only by looking at the statue from the rear will you gain an understanding behind the meaning of the statue's name.
The base of each statue reveals the name of the piece, the artist and the artist's designated charity that will profit from the statue's auction at Sotherby's later this year.
To keep the statues looking good despite the wear and tear of nature's elements and the guests' touching and climbing on them, artists are on hand to provide touch ups. Pictured here is Andrea Deja's "Fruits of the Mouse" getting some TLC with a bit of airbrushing. Statues needing more significant repair are fixed off stage. We only saw 73 of the 75 Mickeys, as Chris Fedun's "Let's Party" was damaged in transit and Jeff Conine's "Family Tree" needed repairs after too much guest interaction the day before.
The "Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations" nationwide tour is sponsored by Coca-Cola, who had on display in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot giant-sized replicas of special-edition soda bottles that were available in stores.
