Tom Sawyer's Island went through a pretty massive overhaul and re-design, opening early in the summer of 2003.

The shores along the Rivers of America now include this "lookout point" of the island, where stroller parking is prohibited.

The Golden Horseshoe is now truly golden with a new paint job that was readied in time for the Pirates premiere.

With the fatal accident on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, walls blocking access to the attraction and Big Thunder Trail have been erected.
