This week marked the official passing of summer into autumn. Though California doesn't experience the extreme changes each new season brings, the Disneyland Resort downshifts from the high-octane to the more mundane. Fall marks a time from extended hours of summer nights to refurbishments in anticipation of the holiday season. Summer of 2003 saw the premiere of the second highest-grossing film of the year, The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. XGames participants practiced for the big event by showcasing their talents at Disney's California Adventure in the XGames Xperience. Television stars took over a theme park for ABC Primetime Preview Weekend. And Fiesta Latina debuted, featuring famous Latino musical acts, dancers, food and arts & crafts. But in between this headline events, lots of little things happened throughout the resort. With an aging park in Disneyland, summer meant refurbishments that normally would be reserved for the off-season. Downtown Disney started filling some of its vacancies. And work continues on projects like the Tower of Terror. Please enjoy our latest Land View with 40 pictures. Photos are from around the Disneyland Resort throughout the Summer of 2003.
