Hong Kong Disneyland

Tarzan's Treehouse, a jumble of jungle and tropical, makeshift home of the legendary ape-man and his friend Jane Porter, rises nearly 19 meters in the heart of Adventureland on Tarzan Island. Tarzan's story unfolds in amazing detail as guests follow winding stairways (cobbled together from a shipwreck) among limbs, branches and 10,000 broad green leaves so meticulously placed by artists that they flutter in the wind and their veins can be seen. Along the vertical pathway guests follow, three "huts" are vignettes into Tarzan's life.

"Festival of the Lion King" is presented in the Theater in the Wild, a 2,250-seat theater inspired by a Cameroonian grand ceremonial house. The 28-minute Broadway-caliber musical is inspired by Disney's animated classic The Lion King.

Staged theater-in-the-round style, "Festival of the Lion King" performs to amazed guests (queuing is in four sections -- each named for a jungle animal). Four giant rolling stages move in from two directions as costumed performers and colorful props sail through the air above the audience. The elaborate production features a cast of 30 performers portraying tribal dancers, hyenas, gazelles, zebras and the stars from the animated motion picture.

The Jungle River Cruise travels the exotic waterways of Asia, India, the South Seas and Africa surrender their secrets to the wonderment of guests aboard timeworn riverboats of the Jungle River Cruise Co. Skippers conduct live commentary in Cantonese, Putonghua or English. Guests simply board whatever boat matches their preferred language. Even the wisecracking humor the skipper spiels -- a tradition with this Disney attraction -- is tailored to each language and scripted to cultural sensibilities.
