Over the holidays, Kathy and I had the opportunity to stay in the gorgeous Grand Californian Hotel at the Disneyland Resort. This 750-room Arts and Crafts-style hotel is visually stunning and feels homey. In fact, we spent much of the weekend enjoying our room and our park view rather than visiting Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure.

A sofa and table is in one corner of the room. The framed picture on the wall is a print from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

A desk is available for in-room business services. The phone has a data jack so that you can plug a computer in and dial up to the Internet.

The headboard of the king-sized bed. Each side of the bed has its own lamp overhead that can be adjusted for light intensity with a sliding dimmer.

If you don't feel like resting on the bed, you can take a seat on this sofa. Plenty of reading material is provided for you as well.

The room's armoire features an honor bar on the right and a television on the left. The honor bar is electronically rigged to record when items are removed, which is automatically billed to your room.

The bathroom mirror and light fixture are representative of the arts and crafts theme throughout the hotel.

The shower curtain has one of the few "Disney" touches in the entire room. Bambi and Thumber adorn the curtain in a repetitive pattern.

Guests have the use of Grand Californian robes during their stay. Similar ones are available for purchase at the hotel's gift shop for those wishing to take them home.
