Kathys Collectible Corner - Disney Scrapbooking

Capture the Magic is the theme of Disney's scrapbooking line with Tinker Bell as the line's spokesfairy. The Mickey Mouse-earred border can be created by scrapbookers with special scissors.

One of my favorite hobbies is scrapbooking. I do one big scrapbook every year and each page is a representation of an event or the latest happening in our lives. I don't do a new page every time we go to Disneyland because we go so often. But if there is a special event -- like the Pirates Premiere, or if family or friends go with us -- then I'll usually put together a scrapbook page to help us remember our day.

It used to be very difficult locating Disney themed papers and stickers. And once you did find some, you did not want to use the same paper and stickers for each and every Disney event. The more Disney events we did, the bigger the problem was avoiding repetition. Then, when Matt and I were at Walt Disney World, my scrapbooking dilemma cleared. At almost ever store or resort gift shop, there are some scrapbook stickers and packaged scrapbook sets.

Inside Disney's Wonderful World of Memories store in Downtown Disney. The store has a variety of scrapbooking supplies, picture frames and craft supplies.

A packaged set is great. It includes paper, stickers and die cuts. They come in three different sizes - 12"x12", 8"x10" and 5"x8". Some of the themed packaged sets are: transportation, cheerleader Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, E-Rides, 2003 graduation Mickey, Romantic Mickey & Minnie, and Princesses.

The best place to find all of the packaged sets and stickers are at the store located at Downtown Disney called Wonderful World of Memories. The stickers in each set are also sold separately. I guess if you want more stickers, you can buy them. But in each pack, there are enough stickers for you to make your memory page. You cannot buy the paper or the die cuts separately. So if you want to do more than one page with the same paper then you will have to buy multiple packs.

Each scrapbook supply comes in a variety of sizes. Books, stickers, paper sets, scissors, glue sticks and pens are among the items for sale at many Walt Disney World retail outlets.

If you are just starting scrapbooking or like to do a whole album in one sitting, there are starter kits. They come with the scrapbook book and blank colored paper.

It was exciting looking at all the scrapbook stuff. Scrapbooking is a great way towards making your pictures fun and cute. Disneyland has just started to get scrapbook paper and stickers too. I hope that they get as good of a selection as Walt Disney World had.
