ABC Soap Opera Bistro at Disney's California Adventure
February 8, 2001 - November 3, 2002

As Disney's California Adventure is welcoming its newest stars from Playhouse Disney, we wanted to take a look back at the ABC Soap Opera Bistro that originally occupied the Playhouse's building.

Loved by some, hated by others, ABC Soap Opera Bistro was a haven for daytime TV fans who could actually dine on one of seven specially re-created sets. Waiters and waitresses were playing the parts of doctors, heiresses and a plethora of other roles. Actors would perform impromptu skits, involving diners in the storylines. And the food was pretty good for a theme park.

Join us on this photo tour of the ABC Soap Opera Bistro as remembered from eight dining occassions throughout its history.

This map represents a simplified layout of the seven various "sets" with entrance and SoapLink store.

This sign was placed in front of ABC Soap Opera Bistro during the restaurant's final weekend before being closed to make room for the Playhouse Disney attraction.

In front of the ABC Soap Opera Bistro was the menu listing some of the dishes available for order, including such classics as "Tuna In Tomorrow" appetizer, "One Leaf to Live" salad, and "Plot-Twist Pasta" and "Hunky Rib-Eye Steak" entrees.

Through the restaurants front doors is the receptionist's desk. Here ABC pages take reservations and prepares seating arrangements in the various dining rooms.
